Andrew Thin set to leave CNPA

28th July 2006

Andrew Thin is to step down as Convener of the Cairngorms National Park Authority in August to take up a new appointment as Chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage.

Andrew has been Convener of the CNPA board since the National Park was established in 2003.

Commenting on the news Jane Hope, the CNPA’s Chief Executive said: “We would like to wish Andrew every success in his new role with Scottish Natural Heritage.

“Andrew has played a crucial role in the establishment and early development of the Cairngorms National Park, guiding both board members and staff through the challenges of setting up a new organisation. The Cairngorms National Park is still very much in its infancy but with Andrew at the helm, we have certainly got off to a great start.”

Andrew’s replacement as Convener will be decided by board members at the CNPA’s board meeting on 8 September in Kingussie.
