Cairngorms National Park

The snowy mountains of Cairngorms

Staff Charitable Group

The Cairngorms National Park Authority Staff Charitable Group was set up by CNPA staff shortly after the Cairngorms National Park Authority was created. Funds are raised by staff through a variety of activities including cake, plant and clothing sales as well a programme of staff lectures and raffles. The aim of the CNPASCG is to provide small grants to groups, especially equality groups, within the National Park to enjoy the special qualities of the National Park. Fundraising and activity is completely independent of the corporate activities of the CNPA.

The  CNPASCG aims to deliver small grants in an effective and timely manner to support groups operating within the Cairngorms National Park enabling their members, regardless of age and ability, to enjoy the special qualities of the Cairngorms National Park. In order to distribute the limited funds to date, the CNPASCG is currently accepting applications for small grants up to a maximum of £250.

Small grants are available to organisations and groups providing, or facilitating provision of, activities within the Cairngorms National Park. This includes youth groups, mums and toddler groups, social clubs and local sports groups amongst others.

Preference will be given to groups who wish to undertake activities or visits within the Cairngorms National Park which are not programmed or that are currently supported by other agencies or grant giving bodies. Examples (for illustration only) include:

  • Tickets for Cairngorms National Park attractions:
  • Mini bus hire for activities:
  • New equipment to enable groups to enjoy the Parks special qualities e.g. bikes, kayaks or binoculars:
  • Specialist services to enable equalities groups to access the Park i.e. mobility scooters, specialist outdoor activity providers who can cater for disability groups.
