The Local Development Plan (LDP) sets out where the right kind of development should happen in the right place in the National Park to deliver the aims of the National Park. All planning applications in the National Park are assessed against the LDP.
Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan 2015
The Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan was adopted by the CNPA on 27 March 2015.
The Local Development Plan replaces the Cairngorms National Park Local Plan 2010 and the Local Plans covering parts of Perth and Kinross inside the National Park.
You can view or download the plan below or at the CNPA office in Grantown-on-Spey, at public libraries and Council Service Points in the National Park, in Blairgowrie and Pitlochry in Perth and Kinross or Kirriemuir in Angus. The downloadable version of the Plan contains links to our interactive mapping system.
The CNPA has prepared a suite of Supplementary Guidance (SG) that is part of the Local Development Plan. The SG provides more detail about how to comply with the policies in the LDP.
The CNPA has also prepared non-statutory Planning Guidance to help support the delivery of the LDP. This includes Development Briefs, which have been adopted for allocated sites in Dulnain Bridge, Grantown-on-Spey, Kincraig and Newtonmore.
You can view and download our Supplementary, non-statutory guidance below or at the CNPA office in Grantown-on-Spey. The guidance is also available at public libraries and Council Service Points in the National Park.
