Your comments will now be considered and will help to guide the next stage in the process - the preparation of the proposed Local Development Plan.
Details of the responses and issues arising were presented to the CNPA board on 16 March 2012.
We will continue to publish information and progress updates on this page.
What is the Main Issues Report?
The Main Issues Report represents the first formal stage of the new Local Development Plan (LDP). This will eventually replace the current Cairngorms National Park Local Plan, the Perth & Kinross Highland Area Local Plan (where it applies in the National Park) and the structure plans produced by Angus, Moray, Aberdeenshire and Highland local authorities. This stage of the Local Development Plan's preparation is to identify the main land-use planning issues within the Cairngorms National Park and the Main Issues Report contains:
- The issues and options to deal with the main land-use planning issues
- General proposals for housing and employment development in the Park
A number of supporting publications have also been produced, including an Environmental Report and various background evidence documents.
Some additional work has been carried out in Braemar to help inform the Main Issues Report and Local Development Plan. This work, co-founded by Invercauld Estate, Mar Estate and the Cairngorms National Park Authority has been developed to provoke thought and comment on where the community see Braemar in the future. The report has been drawn up by planning consultants, Halliday Fraser Munro with input from a small working group comprising the two biggest landowners, CNPA, a representative from the community council and the Community Development Officer. It follows work to develop a community vision for Braemar, and submissions by land owners with sites for future development which formed part of the work to draw up the Main Issues Report.
Tomintoul & Glenlivet
At the request of the community, rural regeneration specialists have been asked to research the issues currently facing Tomintoul and Glenlivet to provide advice on potential opportunities to address these. The issues and opportunities identified in the document were discussed at a public meeting on Monday 7th November. You can read the feedback here.
