Training & Support

The Cairngorms National Park Authority provides a range of services to Land Management businesses to support the vital part they play in delivering the conservation, rural development and visitor experience priorities in the Cairngorms National Park Partnership Plan.

We offer a wide variety of support to land based businesses in the Park; from forestry & conservation to deer management or farming. We are proud to have such skilled land managers in the Cairngorms National Park and we want to do all we can to help our land based industries.

We can provide advice and support on management and best practice, from regulations and legislation to innovative techniques and collaborative projects. As well as providing expert advice on the management of the land we can also provide solid and reliable advice on funding sources, including the Scottish Rural Development Programme.

CNPA is pleased to offer a financial subsidy for the land management sector for short course training in rural skills such as pesticide spraying and chainsaw operation. We also run bespoke courses, training and knowledge exchange events on a wide variety of skills and topics. This will include practical skills such as sheep shearing, deer stalking and woodland management, but will be widened to include seminars on key current issues and challenges affecting land managers in the Cairngorms.
