Rural Skills Training

We support training for Land Management businesses operating in the Park.

We are delighted to continue to offer 30% funding towards the cost of eligible short courses (under 5 days duration) in key rural skills during 2017.

It is up to you to arrange training with your choice of trainer, time and place and once the training has been delivered, we will reimburse 30% of your training costs.

The cost of any training which meets the Eligibility Criteria will be partially reimbursed on a first come first served basis. There is a limited fund for this support on a year by year basis and no further applications will be accepted once the funds are fully allocated, so we recommend applying early.

Due to a fantastic level of enthusiasm the scheme tends to be fully subscribed, and to ensure best use of the funding we tightened up some of the rules at the start of 2016. The main changes are:

• You must send in an application form and evidence of costs before your training. Retrospective claims will no longer be accepted unless by prior agreement in exceptional circumstances.
• First aid training and some other courses less directly concerned with land management skills will no longer be eligible – contact us if in doubt about a particular course.
• There are slightly reduced limits to the total you can claim, ie £1000 per business per year and £200 per training place.

How to apply:
