Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 was passed by the Scottish Parliament on 24 April 2002 and received Royal Assent on 28 May 2002. It came into force on 01 January 2005 and will be enforced by the Scottish Information Commissioner.

The Act gives any individual or organisation new rights of access to information held by Scottish public authorities. They do not have to be resident in Scotland to exercise these rights and on submission of an email or written request, are entitled to receive the information subject to any conditions or exemptions that may apply.

To comply with The Act, the Cairngorms National Park Authority has developed a Publication Scheme which outlines the classes of information available, how this will be published and if there is a fee for information supplied.

The Cairngorms National Park Authority's Publication Scheme is available as a PDF file. It is also available as a plain text file.
