The landscape of Strath Avon is richly diverse. The river bisects the fertile floodplain, steep landforms enclose the glen and shelter farmland and a mix of coniferous and broadleaved woodland. The broadleaf woodland surrounding you as you stand at the photo post is of both national and European importance for the special flora it supports.
