Cairngorms National Park

Post Updated

Photo Post Location 15 . The Devil's Elbow

Take a seat with Devils and Drovers

The Devil's elbow is close to the high pass of the Cairnwell on the long-established route between Glen Shee and Braemar. The "elbow" is a double hairpin bend on the line of the old road in upper Glen Shee, now a lay-by with a specially designed viewing area. The photo post is orientated along the meanders of the Allt a Ghlinne Bhig, framed by the ice-sculpted landforms of Meal Gorm and Carn Mor. We are looking forward to seeing photos of seasonal change, of the sculpted corries and scree slopes emphasised by snow lie in and deep shadows.
