The shooting range is one of the two longest in the country; a training area for the military and Olympians. For those with the right equipment and fitness there is a route through to the headwaters of the Tilt and over to the Linn of Dee. This passes through Glen Tilt which follows a pronounced geological fault line which is very narrow and straight.
