The photo post is situated on the wooden viewing platform on Parkin’s Moss, which is signposted from the Burn o’ Vat visitors centre (follow the dragonfly route waymarkers).

Parkin’s Moss is one of two raised bogs at Muir of Dinnet. A raised bog is more water than solid earth and supports a range of specialist plants and invertebrates. Lowland raised bogs are one of the most threatened and diminished habitats in the UK – only 5% survive - so every example is extremely important.
