More information on this location

Parkin’s Moss is one of two raised bogs at Muir of Dinnet. A raised bog is more water than solid earth and supports a range of specialist plants and invertebrates. Lowland raised bogs are one of the most threatened and diminished habitats in the UK – only 5% survive - so every example is extremely important.

Parkin’s moss forms part of the Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve, managed by Scottish Natural Heritage. For more information visit their website.
