Ranger services in the Cairngorms National Park

Rangers work across the National Park to provide a warm welcome and support for everyone to enjoy, discover and connect to the landscapes and nature of the Cairngorms in a caring and responsible way.

Cairngorms ranger team

Our ranger team is skilled in the delivery of engagement activities to a wide range of audiences from visiting families, local communities and special interest groups. We cover the whole of the national park based in two teams, one based in Grantown on Spey and the other in Ballater.

Our ranger team works in partnership with other site-based ranger services and land managers across the park at key visitor ‘hotspots’ including communities, car parks, trail heads, roadside locations, countryside attractions and viewpoints.

Countryside rangers

Our team of skilled and experienced countryside rangers work on a variety of engagement projects and activities to promote the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the park and creating a park welcome to all.
