How to get there
The Knockie Viewpoint is on a marked trail; maps are on display in the Bridge of Tanar car park and Ranger Station and available here. Distance from the car park is about 1.5km and is easy walking with a short climb to the view point. The photo post is on the opposite side of the footpath from the viewpoint.
More information on this location
The viewpoint with seating and interpretation, was installed in spring 2017. Here you will find information about the forest and its special wildlife. The view from the photo post will capture forest regeneration and changes through management of the forest in this area. Glen Tanar is a National Nature Reserve and is on the inventory of gardens and designed landscapes. There is some interesting archaeology around too. Check out the Ranger Station at the Bridge of Tanar for a wealth of local information or visit the Glen Tanar estate website.
