CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY Paper 3 15/06/07 CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOR DECISION Title: APPROVAL TO DEPOSIT LOCAL PLAN Prepared by: Karen Major, Local Plan/Policy Officer Purpose To formally approve the deposit of the Cairngorms Local Plan in line with the resolution of the Planning Committee. Recommendations That the Board: Ratify the decision of the Planning Committee (04-05-07) and formally approve the Local Plan for deposit and the associated work and publicity associated with depositing the Plan. Report The Cairngorms National Park Authority has a duty to prepare Local Plans for the Park and has been engaged in Local Plan preparation since September 2004. The Deposit Local Plan was considered by the Planning Committee on 4th May 2007, and to ratify this decision, the Board are asked to endorse this resolution, allowing the document to go on formal deposit on 9th July 2007 for a consultation period of 12 weeks. Appended to this report is the Consultation Report which must accompany the Deposit Local Plan. This summarises the representations received during the consultation phase on the Draft Local Plan (October 2005) and clarifies how these comments were taken into account in developing the Deposit version of the Local Plan. The Board are therefore asked to endorse the Planning Committee decision, and approve the publication of the Local Plan, and its placement on Deposit, together with the Consultation Report for further consultation in order to continue its development.
