Cairngorms Voices by Fiona Holmes

Fiona has a varied background in environmental and land management work. Originally an engineer, but having re-trained in rural estate and land management, her over 20-year career in the private, public and third sector has so far spanned a wide range of issues such as; river flood defences, water resources licensing, native woodland conservation, scientific research, and rural estate factoring. Her current role at the CNPA is primarily working on the Scottish Governments new ‘Rural Land Use Plans’ but is also as nominated Agriculture Officer where she aims to provide a single point of contact between the various strands of CNPA agriculture-related work and the wider agricultural community. Also, having grown up in the North East of Scotland she is glad to be back home and spikkin Doric!
