How to get there

Park in the walker’s car park for "Jock's road" on the east side of the A93 at Auchallater about 2 miles south of Braemar. The photo post is just above the car park.

More information on this location

Auchallater, a 19th century farmstead was a sheep farm.  On the other side of the Clunie water is the old military road, the ‘back road’ into Braemar and a pleasant walking or cycling route. Frasers Bridge (built in 1748) just to the south is an attractive crossing of the Clunie.

The Auchallater car park is a starting point for the historic route known as Jock's Road, heading over the hills from Braemar to Glen Doll in the Angus glens. There are two photo posts in Glen Doll, Kilbo Path and Glen Doll.
