HIGH PRIORITIES (in order of community’s agreed priorities)
- BMX / Pump track
- Provision for camping with tents (touring caravans)
- Community-owned housing
- Reduction of speeding offences in village and Drumuillie (use of chicanes?)
- Small business units to attract new start-ups (possible land at railway?)
- Improve pavement access for wheelchairs/buggies
- Integrate and improve off road cycle paths and woodland trails
- Improve transport links – integrated buses and trains
- Sort out car parking congestion (especially lower Deshar/Kinchurdy Rd & Church Drive)
- Pub/Social place to meet
- New school and nursery (community build?)
- Sheltered accommodation
- Increase childcare facilities
- Allow emergency access to Hall via new housing development (via a locked barrier?)
- Community consultation to agree use of Curling Pond site
- Complete safe footpath between Spey Bridge and Nethy crossroads
- Dog fouling on streets, moor and in woods
- Improve information on local employment opportunities
MEDIUM PRIORITIES
- Cut back growth on path to school
- More affordable daytime events for the elderly
- Tidy up recycling area
- Picnic area at Milton Park
- Investigate use of HLH mobile skate park
- Work with railway to keep station looking nice eg paints/plants/flowers
- Expand volunteering groups
- Create an outdoor bowling green
- Signage to alert re footballing on field
- Support Boat Hotel to work with village more
- Reduce level of street lighting
LOW PRIORITIES
- Parking for steam train at Golf Course (signage)
- Red squirrel trail
- Improve information for locals/visitors eg What’s On
- Complete Station Square
- Improve look of substation railings
- Ark of Caledon
- Cull the crows
- Crazy Golf Course
- More floral displays
- Open air covered meeting place
- Promote car sharing
- All weather strip behind football pitch for 5‑a-side, basketball
Notes a) Lists were circulated after the meeting and achieved numerous sign ups from people willing to help with various projects eg pump track, path to school, camping, signage etc. Further sign up opportunities to list of possible projects to be circulated via Google sign up/word of mouth
b) Regarding community-owned housing, a further separate public consultation of the community will be required to take this forward.
c) Parent Council and Wee Bogies to look into proposal for improving or expanding the play park facilities. Signposting for visitors also required at Craigie Avenue road end
d) All abilities path mentioned as a priority but not included on list, as Community Company and Community Council are jointly proceeding with this already
e) Group to reconvene to look at signage again in general in the village, but also to consider some of the points raised on this at the Big Conversation eg public toilets, parking for cycle shop users/walkers/steam train users, community hall, playing field, play park, possibility of football in road at Hall
