The planning system in the Cairngorms National Park is managed by the Park Authority and the five local authorities which operate in the National Park - Aberdeenshire, Angus, Highland, Moray and Perth and Kinross.

Our Planning team prepare the Local Development Plan for the National Park, process planning applications that are called in by the Park Authority and share the enforcement of the planning system with the local authorities within the National Park.

All planning enquires are dealt with initially by the relevant local authority, who lead on planning advice and queries. Contact your local authority planning team for any pre-application advice and for any information or updates on your application if it is being dealt with / determined by the local authority.
