View and comment on planning applications

To view current planning applications made in the Cairngorms National Park, you must read and accept the terms and conditions.
Search a planning application by using the application reference number, application type, the property address or map on our planning portal. If a planning application is awaiting determination, you will be able to view information about it and see any comments on it from members of the public or public bodies.
Once an application has been determined and a decision notice has been issued by the Park Authority, only the decision notice, approved or refused plans, supporting information and the Planning Committee report will be available to view on our planning application portal.
To view older planning applications please contact our Planning team.
Planning applications made within the National Park that are not called in by the Park Authority are shown on our planning portal with a description, location and ‘status’ of ‘local authority decision’.
The details of those applications can be viewed on the relevant local authority website.
Commenting on applications
You can view all current active planning applications called in by the Park Authority and their public comments deadline date on our weekly list.
If the application you are interested in is open for public comments, you can submit your comments directly via our planning portal, or by contacting our Planning team.
You can also submit comments by writing to our Planning team at our Grantown-on-Spey office.
Please note that your comments cannot be treated in confidence as they form part of the public record of the planning application. Your comments will also be published on our website.
You have 28 days from the date of call in by the Park Authority to make a representation on a planning application and to request to speak in support or objection at the Planning Committee where the application will be determined.
When commenting on a planning application, it is recommended that you focus on the land use planning issues and explain any concerns clearly.
Decision making process
All planning applications called in by the Park Authority are decided by our Planning Committee. If you have made a representation on an application, you will be kept informed and advised of when the application will be considered at committee.
