Plan your visit
Whether you are looking for a solo escape, fun for the whole family or just a break from the everyday, the Cairngorms National Park has it all.
Situated right in the heart of the Scottish highlands, the UK’s largest National Park has a spectacular combination of wilderness, heritage, adventure and peace. Throughout the seasons there are events and ceilidhs, activity providers aplenty, local food and drinks galore, and landscapes that have inspired creativity for many centuries. Whether you’re drawn to dark skies and a bit of winter magic, loch side views surrounded by autumn colours, or spring time adventures, it’s easy to see why people who visit the Cairngorms come back time and time again.
This National Park is known and revered for its natural and environmental credentials, and so it makes sense that the love of this place must go hand in hand with action to protect and take care of the nature and wildlife that depends on it.
The Cairngorms welcomes around 2 million people a year, so the positive impact that visitors can have should not be underestimated. From small actions like litter picking, packing reusable picnic tubs and shopping locally, to cutting the carbon and taking the train, planning ahead provides the opportunity to put sustainability at the core of your trip, ensuring that future generations can benefit from all the National Park has to offer for many years to come.
