Finance Secretary Budget Update — Additional Business Support • £185m new and additional business support in the new year • Allocated on a sector by sector basis • It will include grant schemes for hospitality / events / food and beverage (including £1.8m for brewers) / Self Catering / B&B / Guest Houses
The Finance Secretary included the following detail:- • £60m for tourism, details to be developed in consultation with the industry • £1.5m for travelling show people ineligible for other support • £5m for wedding sector and supply chain (including photographers) • £5m for travel agents • £19m fund, plus one off grant, for taxi drivers • £1.5m for visitor attractions • almost £6m for coach companies and tour operators • £15m in one off grants for mobile close contact services • One off payments to hospitality businesses will be made in January of £2k or £3k depending on rateable value. This is in addition to any strategic payment framework grants currently being received.

£30m Business Hardship Fund / £15m Newly Self Employed Scheme • High level guidance and allocation has been agreed with local authorities • Each local authority is expected to announce eligibility and application criteria shortly
Residential Outdoor Education Centre Support Fund: Round 1 Applications Close 1pm 11th December • Open to third and private sector centres that routinely provided curricular relevant, residential outdoor learning opportunities for young people (aged 3 – 18) before March 2020 • Full details HERE

CNPA Heritage Lottery Fund Bid — Information, Discussion & Feedback • The Cairngorms National Park Authority, Cairngorms Business Partnership and partners are working on a significant bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a project to help deliver a net-zero vision for the Cairngorms National Park. • Grant Moir will provide information on the bid, get feedback from members and look at how we can work together on this project if the bid is successful. • It is also an opportunity to discuss CNPA/CBP & partners visitor management plans for 2021 • Details and registration HERE

Business Closure Grant
Business is required to close by law entitled to a temporary closure grant every four weeks: • £2,000 if your business premises has a rateable value of up to and including £51,000 • £3,000 if your business premises has a rateable value of £51,001 or above An upper limit of £15,000 in total in any four-week period will apply to any eligible business operating multiple premises.
Business Restrictions Grant The eligibility criteria for this grant is very narrow and is generally only available to those businesses required by law to restrict their trading operations. If eligible it pays a grant every four weeks of: • £1, 400 if your business premises has a rateable value of up to and including £51,000 • £2,100 if your business premises has a rateable value of £51,001 or above • An upper limit of £10,500 in total in any four-week period will apply to any eligible business operating multiple premises.

Coronavirus Job Retention (Furlough) Scheme • Extended until 31 March 2021 with a Government paying 80% of unworked hours. • Capped at £2,500 pm per employee • Employer pays national insurance and employer pension contributions • A review will take place in January 2021 • The scheme will continue to include flexible furlough allowing part time working • Open to all the employee or employer does not have to have used the scheme previously. • It will cover employees on the payroll on 30 October 2020 • Employees who were on the payroll on 23 September and have subsequently been made redundant can be reemployed and entered into the scheme so long as an RTI submission has been made for that employee between 20 March and 23 September. • The Job Retention Bonus will now NOT be paid in January the Government will ‘redeploy a

Self Employment Income Support Scheme • The next self-employed income support grant will increase from 55% to 80% of average profits — up to £7,500 • Covers the period November — January (three months) • Claims will open on 30 November • The Government state that details for the Grant for the period February to April will be announced in due course. • Link to Government website HERE
Jobs — Kickstart Scheme • Funding to create 6 month job placement for young people (16−24) on universal credit • 100% funding of national minimum wage for 25 hours per week plus funding for NI and statutory pension contributions. • To apply direction businesses must be able to offer 30 placements • The CBP is acting as an intermediary for those offering less than 30 placements. Business Interruption Loan Scheme • Government guaranteed (up to 80%) banking facilities will be available from Monday, an interest-free period of 12 months.
Bounce Back Loan Scheme • 100% guaranteed by UK Government • 25% of turnover to a maximum of £50,000 • Government will pay first 12 months interest • Available from banks from 9am, Monday 4th May • No forward looking viability test • Standard application form, funds within 24 hours of approval
HMRC • Cashflow support via the tax system: VAT payments for the next quarter is deferred. Payments will not be due until the end of the financial year. • HMRC Covid-19 Time To Pay Helpline 0800 015 9559: Website • Both the Universal Credit standard allowance and working tax credit basic element will be increased by £1,000/year. • The minimum income floor will be suspended for all those impacted, allowing those who are self-employed to access Universal Credit up to the level of statutory sick pay. • Self-assessment payments are deferred until January 2021.
