Fin­ance Sec­ret­ary Budget Update — Addi­tion­al Busi­ness Sup­port • £185m new and addi­tion­al busi­ness sup­port in the new year • Alloc­ated on a sec­tor by sec­tor basis • It will include grant schemes for hos­pit­al­ity / events / food and bever­age (includ­ing £1.8m for brew­ers) / Self Cater­ing / B&B / Guest Houses

The Fin­ance Sec­ret­ary included the fol­low­ing detail:- • £60m for tour­ism, details to be developed in con­sulta­tion with the industry • £1.5m for trav­el­ling show people ineligible for oth­er sup­port • £5m for wed­ding sec­tor and sup­ply chain (includ­ing pho­to­graph­ers) • £5m for travel agents • £19m fund, plus one off grant, for taxi drivers • £1.5m for vis­it­or attrac­tions • almost £6m for coach com­pan­ies and tour oper­at­ors • £15m in one off grants for mobile close con­tact ser­vices • One off pay­ments to hos­pit­al­ity busi­nesses will be made in Janu­ary of £2k or £3k depend­ing on rate­able value. This is in addi­tion to any stra­tegic pay­ment frame­work grants cur­rently being received.

CNPA Her­it­age Lot­tery Fund Bid — Inform­a­tion, Dis­cus­sion & Feed­back • The Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity, Cairngorms Busi­ness Part­ner­ship and part­ners are work­ing on a sig­ni­fic­ant bid to the Nation­al Lot­tery Her­it­age Fund for a pro­ject to help deliv­er a net-zero vis­ion for the Cairngorms Nation­al Park. • Grant Moir will provide inform­a­tion on the bid, get feed­back from mem­bers and look at how we can work togeth­er on this pro­ject if the bid is suc­cess­ful. • It is also an oppor­tun­ity to dis­cuss CNPA/CBP & part­ners vis­it­or man­age­ment plans for 2021 • Details and regis­tra­tion HERE

Busi­ness Clos­ure Grant

Busi­ness is required to close by law entitled to a tem­por­ary clos­ure grant every four weeks: • £2,000 if your busi­ness premises has a rate­able value of up to and includ­ing £51,000 • £3,000 if your busi­ness premises has a rate­able value of £51,001 or above An upper lim­it of £15,000 in total in any four-week peri­od will apply to any eli­gible busi­ness oper­at­ing mul­tiple premises.

Busi­ness Restric­tions Grant The eli­gib­il­ity cri­ter­ia for this grant is very nar­row and is gen­er­ally only avail­able to those busi­nesses required by law to restrict their trad­ing oper­a­tions. If eli­gible it pays a grant every four weeks of: • £1, 400 if your busi­ness premises has a rate­able value of up to and includ­ing £51,000 • £2,100 if your busi­ness premises has a rate­able value of £51,001 or above • An upper lim­it of £10,500 in total in any four-week peri­od will apply to any eli­gible busi­ness oper­at­ing mul­tiple premises.

Coronavir­us Job Reten­tion (Fur­lough) Scheme • Exten­ded until 31 March 2021 with a Gov­ern­ment pay­ing 80% of unworked hours. • Capped at £2,500 pm per employ­ee • Employ­er pays nation­al insur­ance and employ­er pen­sion con­tri­bu­tions • A review will take place in Janu­ary 2021 • The scheme will con­tin­ue to include flex­ible fur­lough allow­ing part time work­ing • Open to all the employ­ee or employ­er does not have to have used the scheme pre­vi­ously. • It will cov­er employ­ees on the payroll on 30 Octo­ber 2020 • Employ­ees who were on the payroll on 23 Septem­ber and have sub­sequently been made redund­ant can be ree­m­ployed and entered into the scheme so long as an RTI sub­mis­sion has been made for that employ­ee between 20 March and 23 Septem­ber. • The Job Reten­tion Bonus will now NOT be paid in Janu­ary the Gov­ern­ment will redeploy a

Self Employ­ment Income Sup­port Scheme • The next self-employed income sup­port grant will increase from 55% to 80% of aver­age profits — up to £7,500 • Cov­ers the peri­od Novem­ber — Janu­ary (three months) • Claims will open on 30 Novem­ber • The Gov­ern­ment state that details for the Grant for the peri­od Feb­ru­ary to April will be announced in due course. • Link to Gov­ern­ment web­site HERE

Jobs — Kick­start Scheme • Fund­ing to cre­ate 6 month job place­ment for young people (1624) on uni­ver­sal cred­it • 100% fund­ing of nation­al min­im­um wage for 25 hours per week plus fund­ing for NI and stat­utory pen­sion con­tri­bu­tions. • To apply dir­ec­tion busi­nesses must be able to offer 30 place­ments • The CBP is act­ing as an inter­me­di­ary for those offer­ing less than 30 place­ments. Busi­ness Inter­rup­tion Loan Scheme • Gov­ern­ment guar­an­teed (up to 80%) bank­ing facil­it­ies will be avail­able from Monday, an interest-free peri­od of 12 months.

Bounce Back Loan Scheme • 100% guar­an­teed by UK Gov­ern­ment • 25% of turnover to a max­im­um of £50,000 • Gov­ern­ment will pay first 12 months interest • Avail­able from banks from 9am, Monday 4th May • No for­ward look­ing viab­il­ity test • Stand­ard applic­a­tion form, funds with­in 24 hours of approval

HMRC • Cash­flow sup­port via the tax sys­tem: VAT pay­ments for the next quarter is deferred. Pay­ments will not be due until the end of the fin­an­cial year. • HMRC Cov­id-19 Time To Pay Helpline 0800 015 9559: Web­site • Both the Uni­ver­sal Cred­it stand­ard allow­ance and work­ing tax cred­it basic ele­ment will be increased by £1,000/year. • The min­im­um income floor will be sus­pen­ded for all those impacted, allow­ing those who are self-employed to access Uni­ver­sal Cred­it up to the level of stat­utory sick pay. • Self-assess­ment pay­ments are deferred until Janu­ary 2021.
