Legal Challenge 10-13 January 2012
A legal challenge to the Cairngorms National Park Local Plan is being heard in the Court of Session in Edinburgh, 10-13 January 2012.
Hamish Trench, CNPA Strategic Land Use Director said: “We are unable to comment on the details of this case as it is currently being heard in court. We are though, disappointed that the case has been brought following the extensive consultation that CNPA undertook in developing the plan. The plan enables communities to develop and thrive while conserving and enhancing what is best about the natural and cultural heritage of Britain’s largest National Park.”
The appellants are: Cairngorms Campaign, Scottish Campaign for National Parks and Badenoch & Strathspey Conservation Group.
Other parties that have joined to defend the appeal are: Davall Developments, Tullochs and An Camus Mor LLP.
There will not be an immediate judgement at the end of the hearing. It could be two or three months before this is given.
