Have your say on Local Access Forums
Access to the outdoors will come under the spotlight at a series of meetings to be held in September.
We have a statutory responsibility for outdoor access in terms of setting up one or more Local Access Forums (LAF), covering the Cairngorms National Park. The function of a LAF will be to advise the Cairngorms National Park Authority on access rights, rights of way and the development of a network of core paths.
Everyone with an interest in outdoor access, whether they live in the Park or not, is encouraged to come along to the nearest meeting on one of the following dates:
Tuesday 7 September – Inglis Memorial Hall, Edzell
Wednesday 8 September – Richmond Memorial Hall, Tomintoul
Thursday 9 September – Duke of Gordon Hotel, Kingussie
Tuesday 14 September – Lonach Hall, Strathdon
Wednesday 15 September – YMCA Community Centre, Grantown-on-Spey
Thursday 16 September – Victory Hall, Aboyne
All meetings start at 7pm and tea and coffee will be povided.
The events will help to inform the public of the role of LAFs and provide an opportunity to gather comments and opinions from interested groups and individuals on how a LAF should be structured;and the options for appointing members to the Forum.
