Calendar and poem exhibition hits Grantown

1st November 2004

It’s the turn of the Grantown-on-Spey Museum to host the Cairngorms National Park Authority’s exhibition of winning poems and photographs, collated as a result of the calendar competition organised earlier in the year.

The calendar competition invited amateur photographers to submit their best images of the Cairngorms National Park and the poetry element asked local schoolchildren to write down their thoughts on what they love about the area.

As a result, the Cairngorms National Park 2005 calendar is a showcase of images showing the beauty of the Cairngorms and the diversity of life within it.  The accompanying poems describe the Park’s special qualities with topics ranging from the weather and landscape to the Park’s wildlife and sports.

The exhibition can be viewed at the Grantown Museum from Monday 1 November to Tuesday 30 November.

The Boat of Garten Village Hall and Cairngorm Mountain are also set to host the exhibition in late December and mid-January respectively.

More dates and venues for the calendar exhibition can still be arranged.  If anyone is interested in hosting the exhibition for a short time, please contact Karen Powell at the CNPA on tel: 01479 870534.
