Applic­a­tions: • 2020/0220/DET for the erec­tion of a bothy and the form­a­tion of an access track at land 515M SE Of Kil­liehuntly Farm­house; and • 2020/0221/DET for the erec­tion of bothy and asso­ci­ated ser­vice route at land 400M SW of Kil­li­huntly Farm­house, Kingussie.

Pur­pose The pur­pose of this site vis­it is to help Plan­ning Com­mit­tee Mem­bers to under­stand the phys­ic­al con­text of the site and the land it occu­pies. Inform­a­tion on the applic­a­tion sub­mit­ted is avail­able with­in the Com­mit­tee Reports of Decem­ber 2021 and fur­ther details are also avail­able on the CNPA website.

Advice and require­ments for the day:

  1. All par­ti­cipants must have car­ried out a lat­er­al flow test with­in 12 hours pri­or to the site vis­it and have uploaded their res­ult to the NHS res­ults ser­vice. Only people with a neg­at­ive res­ult may attend the site visit.
  2. Fol­low the instruc­tions of the Con­ven­or and the Plan­ning Officer lead­ing the site visit.

  4. A risk assess­ment has been pre­pared for the site vis­it and par­tic­u­lar care is required by par­ti­cipants to ensure they are appro­pri­ately dressed for cold/​wet weath­er with suit­able foot­wear for very rough/​wet and uneven ter­rain. All par­ti­cipants should be con­fid­ent of their abil­ity to walk over some sec­tions of very rough ground.
  5. Plan­ning Com­mit­tee Mem­bers must make their own arrange­ments for travel to and from the site visit.
  6. Mem­bers of the pub­lic are respons­ible for their own travel arrange­ments and safety on the site.
  7. A final decision will be made on wheth­er the site vis­it can be safely under­taken, tak­ing into account weath­er and con­di­tions on the day, will be taken at the Plan­ning Com­mit­tee meet­ing on the morn­ing of 28 Janu­ary 2022 and com­mu­nic­ated to board mem­bers and any mem­bers of the pub­lic who have said they will attend.

Itin­er­ary (tim­ings are indic­at­ive after 1400 hours) 14:00 – All site vis­it par­ti­cipants meet at the car park at Kil­liehuntly Farm­house (iden­ti­fied on the map below). Plan­ning Com­mit­tee Con­vener and Plan­ning Officer lead brief­ing for vis­it and safety briefing.

14:10 – All site vis­it par­ti­cipants will walk to the site of the Lochan Bothy (led by the Convenor/​Planning Officer and iden­ti­fied on map). The route will fol­low an exist­ing uneven vehicle track before head­ing through rough ter­rain to the bothy site. Plan­ning Officer will point out rel­ev­ant features.

14:50– All site vis­it par­ti­cipants will then walk to the site of the River Tromie Bothy (led by the Convenor/​Planning Officer and iden­ti­fied on map). The route will again fol­low an exist­ing vehicle track then along the low key path near the river that can be uneven, rough and boggy. Plan­ning Officer will point out rel­ev­ant features.
