STEP 2 — CONTEXT AND DESCRIPTION OF THE PLAN
Context of the Plan: All of the guidance documents arise from policies in the Local Development Plan. The guidance documents sit below the Local Development Plan in the plan hierarchy.
The contents of the Local Development Plan, including all the policies, were previously subject to SEA. Description of the Plan:
New Housing Development non-statutory guidance Policy I of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for consideration of new housing development. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Supporting Economic Growth non-statutory guidance Policy 2 of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for consideration of how development should support sustainable economic growth. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Design and Placemaking non-statutory guidance Policy 3 of the Local Development Plan applies to all development. It provides the framework to inform design and placemaking for development proposals within the Cairngorms National Park. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Natural Heritage non-statutory guidance Policy 4 of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for how consideration and safeguarding of natural heritage interests should be incorporated into development proposals. A range of natural heritage interests are identified, which includes habitats as well as wildlife. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Landscape non-statutory guidance Policy 5 of the Local Development Plan 2021 provides the framework for how consideration of landscape interests should be incorporated into development proposals. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Renewable Energy non-statutory guidance Policy 7 of the Local Development 2021 provides the framework for how consideration of renewable energy proposals should be incorporated into development proposals. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Open Space, Sport and Recreation non-statutory guidance Policy 8 of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for consideration of how development would support the provision of quality open spaces, sport and recreation facilities. The guidance provides additional 3⁄4

Cultural Heritage non-statutory guidance Policy 9 of the Local Development Plan 2021 applies to all development and provides the framework for how consideration of cultural heritage interests should be incorporated into development proposals. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Resources non-statutory guidance Policy 10 of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for consideration of how development would support the sustainable conservation, extraction and use of resources whilst supporting the aims of the National Park. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information.
Developer Obligations statutory guidance Policy 11 of the Local Development Plan provides the framework for consideration of in what situations developer obligations may be required. The guidance provides additional advice on what needs to be considered and provides links to other sources of relevant information. What are the key components of the plan? The guidance documents include a copy of the relevant LDP policy before providing advice and information sources to help consideration of the policy in relation to development proposals. Have any of the components of the plan been considered in previous SEA work? Yes — the policies that the guidance documents support are part of the LDP, which was subject to SEA. The guidance documents provide advice and links to relevant information, they in themselves do not create additional requirements, actions or activities that would have environmental effects. In terms of your response to Boxes 7 and 8 above, set out those components of the plan that are likely to require screening: None of the components of the guidance documents require screening or further assessment, for the reasons given above.
STEP 4 — STATEMENT OF THE FINDINGS OF THE SCREENING
Summary of interactions with the environment and statement of the findings of the Screening: (Including an outline of the likely significance of any interactions, positive or negative, and explanation of conclusion of the screening exercise.) There is no likelihood of significant environmental effects associated with adoption of the guidance documents and therefore no requirement for further assessment.
