CNPA Planning Committee Site Visit – Friday 10 October at 10 am
Planning Application 2025/0104/DET: Realignment of 400m of River Tromie at Land 670M NW Of Dell of Killiehuntly Farmhouse Kingussie
Purpose The purpose of this site visit is to help Planning Committee Members to view the route of the proposed realignment, the site context and the relationship to Invertromie Steading. Information on the application is available within the Committee Report of 29 August 2025, and all accompanying documents are available on the CNPA website. The application is due to be considered again at the Planning Committee Meeting of 14 November 2025.
Advice and requirements for the day:
- Follow the instructions of the Convener and the Planning Officer leading the site visit.
- Read the Cairngorms Planning Advice Note ‘Planning Committee Site Visits’ a) http://cairngorms.co.uk/wp- content/uploads/2015/07/141204PANPlanningCommitteeSiteVisits.pdf
- A risk assessment has been prepared for the site visit and particular care is required by participants to ensure they are appropriately dressed for cold/wet weather and wet/watery ground conditions – wearing waterproof clothing and wellingtons will be required.
- Planning Committee Members to meet at 10 am at the Duke of Gordon Hotel Kingussie where they will be conveyed to the site in 4 x 4 vehicles.
- Members of the public must make their own arrangements for travel to and from the site visit and will require to walk down the fields to the site at their own risk.
- Meeting point will be at Invertromie Steadings at 10.15 am — please note there is limited parking there, with some parking at the top of the track.

Itinerary 10.00 Committee members to meet at the Duke of Gordon Hotel Kingussie to be conveyed to site in 4 x 4 vehicles provided by CNPA and applicants. Other site visit participants to assemble at Invertromie Steadings and make own arrangements to get there.
10.15 Committee members will stop at Invertromie Steading where any other site visit participants will have assembled. Committee members will be conveyed to the application site in 4 x 4 vehicles. Other participants will require to walk down the field to the site.
10.20 Planning Committee Convenor and Planning Officer will brief all participants on the purpose and arrangements for site visit. Planning Officer will point out relevant features and site visit will begin.
11.00 approx Committee members will be conveyed in cars to opposite riverbank to development site at Killiehuntly to view site from there.
11.45 Site visit ends and planning committee members will consider the application at the forthcoming committee meeting on Friday 14 November in CNPA offices Grantown on Spey
