New motorhome and caravan site at Dalwhinnie approved by Park Authority planning committee

An application for a new touring motorhome and caravan site at Dalwhinnie has been approved by the Cairngorms National Park Authority Planning Committee today (Friday 26 April). The new site will comprise a 38-bay touring caravan/motorhome site, ten overnight parking spaces on the south-western part of the site and recycling and waste management facilities.

Planning Committee Convener, Cllr Chris Beattie said: “The new motorhome and caravan site at Dalwhinnie will support visitor infrastructure and the local economy in the south of the National Park by offering more accommodation options for visitors and creating local employment opportunities. The on-site recycling and waste management facilities will provide a useful offering for visitors, particularly those coming to the area by motorhome.”

An extension to the caravan site on Seafield Avenue in Grantown on Spey was also approved at the meeting. The extension will see space for 16 additional static caravans at the site developed.
