Local community invited to Strathdon drop in event
We are hosting a drop in event in Strathdon for members of the local community, one of a series of events held every year at different towns and villages across the National Park.
Residents are invited to join us for a cup of tea and cake at The Lonach Hall between 2 and 7pm, Wednesday 24 September. We want to hear from you and chat about some of the work and opportunities happening in the area.
With information on nature friendly farming, the Local Development Plan, and opportunities to feed into our landscapes and communities project - a range of project staff from across our Cairngorms 2030 programme will be there to answer your questions and share information. This event is being held alongside the Marr Area Partnership and will also see the launch of the Strathdon Community Action Plan 2025.
You can also bring your bike along for a free basic check and tune up with a bike mechanic from Live Life Outdoors Cycle Base.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet on both floors. The upper floor, where the event is being held, is accessible by a lift. Seating will be provided throughout the venue and magnifying glasses will be provided to support anyone who would benefit from these to read displays. Gluten-free traybakes and plant milks will be provided as part of our refreshments.
Cairngorms 2030 is putting the power to tackle the climate and nature crises in the hands of people who live, visit and work in the UK’s largest national park. Across 20 long-term projects, Cairngorms 2030 will bring about transformational change in the Cairngorms, benefitting people’s health and wellbeing, delivering on climate change and enhancing nature across the National Park.
Cairngorms 2030 is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players.
