Timber firm expansion on the cards with planning permission approval from CNPA
A Newtonmore timber firm has been granted planning permission to erect a new office and show room, along with other facilities. The planning committee of the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) gave the go-ahead for Russwood Ltd’s plans at its meeting in Blair Atholl today (Friday 7th March).
The development at the Newtonmore Industrial Estate includes the erection of a single storey office and showroom building with the new premises acting as a shop window for the company’s products. The sustainable building has been designed to take into account the surrounding area and particularly the proximity of the premises to the railway station, a key entrance into the Cairngorms National Park for rail travellers.
Eleanor Mackintosh, planning committee convener said: “We are very happy to support this application today which supports the local economy and does so in a way that reflects the special nature and setting of the Cairngorms National Park. Russwood are to be congratulated on the quality of their proposed development.”
