Local Development Plan 3: Evidence Report - June 2023

This document contains an Equality and Fairer Scotland Impact Assessment (EqFSIA) for the Cairngorms National Park Authority's Local Development Plan 3. The assessment combines the public sector duties relating to the Equality Act 2010 and the Fairer Scotland Duty, aiming to identify and address any discriminatory or negative impacts the plan may have on specific equality groups, including those related to age, disability, race, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, pregnancy/maternity/paternity, and socio-economic disadvantage. The assessment includes a screening process to determine if a full impact assessment is needed, considers how the plan aligns with the Cairngorms National Park Partnership Plan 2022, and proposes actions to mitigate potential negative impacts and promote equality, with a focus on targeted consultation and engagement. The assessment acknowledges gaps in available data and outlines plans to update the EqFSIA as new information becomes available, to ensure that development within the National Park meets the needs of specific groups, and creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces that do not exclude certain groups.
