Prepared by: ANDY FORD, HEAD OF CONSERVATION
Purpose
- This paper presents the Cairngorms Nature Action Plan mid-term report.
Recommendations
The Board is asked to:
a) Note that, overall, delivery of the Action Plan is progressing very well. 83% of targets and actions are considered as either complete or progressing as expected; 11% are delayed or requiring additional effort, largely due to COVID-19 restrictions during 2020⁄21; 4 % are considered to be at significant risk of not being delivered; and 2% are unreported.
High risk of not being delivered Delayed and/or requires input On-track unreported Actions 2 8 72 1 Targets 3 5 30 2 TOTAL 5 13 102 3 b) Note the three areas of work that are assessed as being at serious risk of targets not being met or work not progressing satisfactorily: i. Peatland restoration target ii. Expansion of raptor home range occupancy and breeding success iii. Capercaillie population status
c) Note the diversity of conservation delivered by a wide range of land managers, estates, organisations, communities, groups and individuals; and the contributions they make to the collective delivery of the Cairngorms Nature Action Plan, as highlighted in this short film https://we.tl/t‑BVAvWu8SID
