Formal Board Paper 2 Annex 2 25th November 2022
Visitor Infrastructure Improvement Programme: Project Summary 2022
The CNPA budget, approved by the Board in March 2021, allowed for £324,000 for Visitor Management: capital financing to support enhancements to visitor facilities and improved visitor experience. This approach was repeated in 2022 with a further £350,000 made available.
Following discussion at the Managing for Visitors Group, CNPA invited land managers to submit Expressions of Interest for access to Visitor Infrastructure Improvement Programme (VIIP) funds which were assessed, and subsequent offers made where the projects proposed were appropriate. Projects funded in financial year 2021 were to be completed by 31 March 2022 although some have faced delays and one — (Beinn a’ Ghlo) was split over two financial years. Those funded from 2022⁄23 budgets are under way but are not anticipated to be completed until the first quarter of 2023.
