Other Park Initiatives

  1. Caper project / Dog community. Following on from an initial online survey of the dog walking community, a small group of representatives came together over a series of four meetings. Key actions identified for progressing were around fostering a dog community, creating dog friendly spaces and working on standardised signage. An intern is now in post working on a Dog friendly Cairngorms” project to develop a 5‑year action plan and trial the creation of a dog friendly exercise area.

  2. Cairngorms 2030 The application was submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) in mid- August. This included over 70 detailed delivery and cost plans for 20 major projects. We expect the NLHF award decision in December with the 5‑year delivery phase starting in January 2024. If we are successful, we will draw in £10.7m in lottery funding
