Town and Coun­try Plan­ning (Scot­land) Act 1997 Notice of Inten­tion to Adopt – Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity Loc­al Devel­op­ment Plan 2020

I refer to your cor­res­pond­ence of 24 Novem­ber 2020 cer­ti­fy­ing notice of Cairngorms Nation­al Park Authority’s inten­tion to adopt the Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity Loc­al Devel­op­ment Plan 2020.

Scot­tish Min­is­ters have decided that the pro­posed plan as noti­fied is unsat­is­fact­ory and hereby dir­ect under sec­tion 20(5) of the Town and Coun­try Plan­ning (Scot­land) Act 1997, that Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity con­sider modi­fy­ing the pro­posed Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity Loc­al Devel­op­ment Plan 2020 as indic­ated in the Annex to this direction.

This dir­ec­tion is con­sidered neces­sary because it is import­ant that users of the plan are dir­ec­ted towards up to date inform­a­tion, includ­ing rout­ing, regard­ing the dualling of the A9 car­riage­way with­in the Cairngorms Nation­al Park area. The A9 dualling between Perth and Inverness is one of Scotland’s largest trans­port infra­struc­ture pro­grammes and will have trans­port implic­a­tions for spe­cif­ic set­tle­ments in the Cairngorms area.

Sec­tion 20(6) provides (sub­ject to any fur­ther dir­ec­tion under sec­tion 20) that your author­ity may not adopt the Cairngorms Nation­al Park Author­ity Loc­al Devel­op­ment Plan 2020 unless you sat­is­fy Scot­tish Min­is­ters that you have made the modi­fic­a­tions neces­sary to con­form with this dir­ec­tion, or the Scot­tish Min­is­ters with­draw it.

I would be grate­ful if you would there­fore con­firm that your author­ity will modi­fy the plan.
