CUAG minutes 15 March 2024

This document contains the minutes from the Cairngorms Upland Advisory Group (CUAG) meeting on 15 March 2024. Attendees discussed Park fire byelaws and agreed that CUAG would notify the Park Authority of any fire hot-spot locations. Deer consultation was another topic, including exploring a 'Cairngorms' brand for venison and venison sales out of season. Updates were given on the Climate Adaptation Fund, Farmers Forum, and the Cairngorms Nature Action Plan. Furthermore, woodland and forestry were discussed, including Scottish Forestry's consultation process and grant budget cuts. The Integrated Wildfire Management Plan was discussed and action was taken for NatureScot to share their fire plans with CUAG and for the Park Authority to contact NFU Mutual about wildfire insurance for native woodlands.
