This document contains important advice for enjoying the Cairngorms National Park responsibly and protecting its special environment. To prevent wildfires and safeguard nature, please do not use open fires or grills between 1 April and 30 September, instead using gas or liquid fuel stoves for cooking. If you have a dog, keep it on a short lead from April to August, especially near ground-nesting birds and livestock, and always follow local signs. When wild camping, remember to leave no trace, pitching away from others and removing all your waste. If you need to go to the toilet, move at least 30 metres away from water, buildings, and paths, burying faeces and taking sanitary items with you. Finally, when on the water, respect wildlife and other users by giving them space, particularly avoiding nesting areas.
