Plans
Typical Trail Construction Detail
- Cross fall adjusted to suit flow for riders and ensure path surface drains
- Path edges stabilised using stripped turf reclaimed from path tray
- Suitable formation (or larger graded base aggregate)
- 150mm Minimum depth compacted sub-base material with high dust content
- FALL
- Turf lined top side ditch where necessary, this will run to twin wall pipe which will pass under the trail formation to allow surface water to drain away on the downhill side.
- Existing ground level
Typical ‘Berm’ Trail Construction Detail
- 150mm Minimum depth compacted sub-base material with high dust content
- Cross fall adjusted to suit flow for riders and ensure path surface drains
- FALL
- Path edges stabilised using stripped turf reclaimed from path tray — max 45 degree batter
- Existing ground level

Floated Trail Construction Detail
- Cross fall adjusted to suit flow for riders and ensure path surface drains
- Trail edges stabilised using spot borrow turfs from adjacent ground
- Geotextile Geogrid
- FALL
- 300mm Minimum depth compacted sub-base material with larger aggregate at the base and capping layer of dust
- Existing turf to be left in situ with geotextile/geogrid placed on top
- Geogrid (terram or sim.)
Rock Feature Construction Detail
- Path edges stabilised using stripped reclaimed from path tray
- Quarry Dust (or suitable as dug material) compacted between rocks
- Minimum 30% of stone mass below finished ground level
- Existing ground level
- Suitable formation (or larger graded base aggregate)
- Landscaped backslope max 45deg batter. Re-covered with locally won organic material
Piste Trail Construction Detail
- Base formation from suitable as dug material or larger graded aggregate
- Outfall adjusted to suit flow for riders and ensure path surface drains
- FALL
- 150mm Minimum depth compacted sub-base material with high dust content
- Ditch back filled with stone
- Existing slope
- Landscaped backslope max 45deg batter. Re-covered with locally won organic material
Bench Cut Trail Construction Detail
- Base formation from suitable as dug material or larger graded aggregate
- Outfall adjusted to suit flow for riders and ensure path surface drains
- Existing sideslope ground level
- FALL
- 150mm Minimum depth compacted sub-base material with high dust content
