Title: SCOT­TISH GOV­ERN­MENT FEED­BACK ON CNPA PLAN­NING PER­FORM­ANCE FRAME­WORK REPORT 2022/2023

Pur­pose

1. To inform the Com­mit­tee of the Scot­tish Government’s feed­back on the CNPA’s Plan­ning Per­form­ance Frame­work Report for ²⁰²²⁄₂₃.

Back­ground

1. Each year, the CNPA and all oth­er plan­ning author­it­ies in Scot­land pro­duce Plan­ning Per­form­ance Frame­work (PPF) reports on the per­form­ance of their plan­ning ser­vice against cri­ter­ia set by the Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment. The CNPA PPF report for ²⁰²²⁄₂₃ is avail­able to view here: CNPA Plan­ning Per­form­ance Frame­work. For com­par­is­on, oth­er plan­ning author­ity reports can also be viewed from this page: Plan­ning Per­form­ance Frame­work – HOPS (hopscot​land​.org​.uk). Each year, the Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment provides feed­back on each plan­ning authority’s PPF report using a red-amber-green coding.

Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment Feed­back for ²⁰²²⁄₂₃

1. The CNPA received the Scot­tish Government’s feed­back in late October
2. The feed­back report is included as Appendix 1. The CNPA has con­sist­ently had pos­it­ive feed­back reports over recent years and like last year, received green mark­ers through­out the assess­ment. The his­tory of our per­form­ance feed­back is shown on the table on page 4 of Appendix 1.

Con­clu­sion

1. It is good to have pos­it­ive inde­pend­ent feed­back and the report reflects the con­sist­ent work of the entire plan­ning team and the Plan­ning Com­mit­tee. The plan­ning team will con­tin­ue to try to main­tain our per­form­ance and look to

identi­fy improve­ments in the ways we deliv­er it. The CNPA’s next PPF report will be com­pleted for the ²⁰²³⁄₂₄ year and sub­mit­ted to Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment in the sum­mer of 2024.
