On behalf of Dal­whin­nie Com­munity Coun­cil, I am writ­ing to con­firm our full aware­ness of the flood defence designs pro­posed by the Dal­whin­nie Flood Resi­li­ence Group under plan­ning applic­a­tion ref­er­ence 25/01652/FUL.

The applic­ant has engaged con­struct­ively with the Com­munity Coun­cil and wider vil­lage res­id­ents in present­ing the scope and intent of the works.

We are sat­is­fied that the pro­posed flood mit­ig­a­tion and adapt­a­tion meas­ures will offer mean­ing­ful pro­tec­tion to prop­er­ties and infra­struc­ture with­in Dal­whin­nie that have his­tor­ic­ally been vul­ner­able to flood­ing. The designs reflect loc­al con­cerns and incor­por­ate prac­tic­al, envir­on­ment­ally sens­it­ive interventions.

Accord­ingly, Dal­whin­nie Com­munity Coun­cil fully endorses the pro­pos­als and sup­ports their imple­ment­a­tion. We believe the scheme rep­res­ents a clear bene­fit to the loc­al com­munity by enhan­cing resi­li­ence, safe­guard­ing homes and amen­it­ies, and con­trib­ut­ing to long-term sus­tain­ab­il­ity in the face of chan­ging cli­mat­ic conditions.

In view of this pub­lic bene­fit and our endorse­ment as the recog­nised com­munity body, we would sup­port any request for a reduc­tion in the plan­ning applic­a­tion fee, and ask that High­land Coun­cil give this due consideration.
