2019/0247/DET — Engin­eer­ing works to smooth and re-grade land at Cairngorm Moun­tain, Glen­more, Aviemore, High­land PH22 1RB

I refer to the above applic­a­tion and must inform you that Aviemore and Vicin­ity Com­munity Coun­cil fully sup­port the pro­pos­al. Ski­ing plays a very import­ant role in the eco­nom­ic devel­op­ment of Badenoch and Strath­spey dis­trict. The sur­viv­al of com­munit­ies in the area depends upon the con­tinu­ing activ­ity of ski­ing as a tour­ist attrac­tion, which can bring a great deal of money and employment.

The pro­posed work will min­im­ise any adverse effects of recre­ation­al ski­ing on the nat­ur­al envir­on­ment and spe­cial qual­it­ies. It will increase and improve sus­tain­able recre­ation oppor­tun­it­ies for the loc­al com­munity and vis­it­ors and max­im­ise the bene­fits to the loc­al, and Nation­al Park, eco­nomy and sup­port ini­ti­at­ives encour­aging train­ing and recreation.
