It is noted that this is still at the in prin­ciple stage, and we may wish to com­ment on spe­cif­ic ele­ments of any more detailed proposal.

The pro­vi­sion of new hous­ing is a key ele­ment of this applic­a­tion. Aviemore cur­rently faces a chron­ic hous­ing short­age, and we are con­cerned to note that the pro­posed staff accom­mod­a­tion is being included in the quota of afford­able units. This will not, in itself, dir­ectly relieve loc­al hous­ing pres­sures. Over­all, we would prefer a high­er pro­por­tion of afford­able homes (up to 60%) for this development.
