Dear Sir,

Plan­ning applic­a­tion 2020/0076/DET| Engin­eer­ing works for strength­en­ing funicu­lar via­duct, Cairngorm Moun­tain, Glen­more, Aviemore, High­land, PH22 1RB

I refer to the above applic­a­tion and must inform you that Aviemore and Vicin­ity Com­munity Coun­cil while sup­port­ing the applic­a­tion wishes to make the fol­low­ing comments;

1) The tim­ing of the applic­a­tion seems to pre-empt the pub­lic­a­tion of the recent com­munity con­sulta­tion on the future of Cairngorm.

2) It is also under­stood that HIE are to pro­duce a Mas­ter­plan for the future of the moun­tain, which would include a review of all the options for the funicu­lar (repair/​replacement/​removal etc). This looks as if there has already been a decision to repair.

3) There is no inform­a­tion on the planned dur­a­tion, or the poten­tial tim­ing of the work.

4) Run­ning site traffic through the exist­ing Coire Cas Car Park could poten­tially be a sig­ni­fic­ant problem.

5) We wel­come the com­pre­hens­ive meas­ures pro­posed to pro­tect the wild­life and the environment.
