The what and the where are fine — we are con­cerned about the when and the how. As this is the only access road into the new hos­pit­al site (includ­ing A&E and Ambu­lance Sta­tion, due to be up and run­ning April 21) there could not be devel­op­ment works under­taken on this access road after or imme­di­ately before the hos­pit­al site opens. Any restric­tion of access on this road would have imme­di­ate and ser­i­ous implic­a­tions for patient safety. As long as the work was com­plete well in advance of the hos­pit­al open­ing there would not be any issues.
