I refer to the above applic­a­tion and have to inform you that, while not object­ing to the applic­a­tion, Aviemore and Vicin­ity Com­munity Coun­cil wishes to make the fol­low­ing comments;

1. This applic­a­tion is put­ting the cart before the horse. In the Cairngorm and Glen­more strategy agreed by the Cairngorms Nation­al Park Board on 30^th Septem­ber 2016, Nat­ur­al Retreats and part­ners agreed to devel­op and deliv­er mas­ter­plan for Cairngorm Moun­tain. The report to the Board said, ​‘Nat­ur­al Retreats con­tin­ue to devel­op their pro­posed mas­ter­plan for Cairngorm Moun­tain. CNPA has provided ini­tial advice and we expect to see the pro­posed plans and sub­sequent plan­ning applic­a­tions com­ing for­ward.’ To date there has been no mas­ter­plan proposed.

2. One of the fea­tures of the build­ing is a double height tower which looks up the moun­tain. The developer states that the tower is to enable bet­ter views of the

sur­round­ing. The tower will, in fact, will do the oppos­ite and restrict the views of any­one using the extern­al view­ing area.

1. The tower has an ​‘sum­mit room’. What is the func­tion of the ​‘sum­mit room’? The tower is not neces­sary for the func­tion­ing of the facility

2. There is no neces­sity for the tower and in our opin­ion, it will be over­power­ing with­in the con­text of the whole building.
