I am writ­ing to you in regards to a let­ter we received in the post in regards to erec­tion of 3 flats, omis­sion of 3 houses, relo­ca­tion of foot­path and asso­ci­ated works (amend­ment to 05/00209/REMBS).

I just have a few issues with this that I would like to bring to your atten­tion. One them being this site is right out­side my liv­ing room win­dow, and would not like to have to look onto houses and flats. Secondly, the extor­tion­ate prices of these prop­er­ties. Thirdly, my fear is that all these houses are not going to be bought by people in the com­munity, these houses that I will be sur­roun­ded by will either be hol­i­day homes, and B&B’s.

This land should be used for afford­able hous­ing so people of the loc­al vil­lages are able to buy a prop­erty, which would have a pos­it­ive impact on the coun­cil as well, maybe so many people wouldn’t be so depend­ent on coun­cil hous­ing. And when people des­per­ately require a coun­cil house, there would be accom­mod­a­tion available.

Between Crom­dale, right through to Aviemore, there is no afford­able hous­ing being built, no houses to rent any­where, the only houses/​flats being built around the area are £200,xxx plus.

We have recently bought this prop­erty, and we bought the prop­erty know­ing that we would be sur­roun­ded by houses and flats. I under­stand that houses and flats need to be built, but as stated pre­vi­ously my con­cern is these aren’t going to be bought by the loc­al community.

We found it very dif­fi­cult to buy this prop­erty as first time buy­ers, and the more people I speak to of the young­er gen­er­a­tion, try­ing to get onto the prop­erty lad­der, it enrages me that we are sur­roun­ded by ridicu­lously priced housing.

I am also con­cerned that build­ing so many brand new prop­er­ties around this area will have a neg­at­ive impact on the future sale of our property.

I am not one for com­plain­ing in regards to the noise of the site etc, that is to be expec­ted. But I am not happy with the fact there’s a des­ig­nated car park, yet quite a few vehicles are parked right out­side our liv­ing room win­dow. I just feel that this is invad­ing my per­son­al space. I dont have my blinds open dur­ing the day as I am uncom­fort­able with the fact that people are able to see into my win­dows whilst going back to their vehicles.
