COMMUNITY COUNCIL COMMENTS

Cairngorms National Park Authority 14 The Square Grantown-on-Spey PH26 3HG
CNPA Call-In Notification — 2021/0090/DET
Dear Sirs, Before going further I would like to state that the applicant Donald (Donnie) Black is a member of this community council, he has however taken no part whatsoever in this discussion.
The Nethy Bridge and Vicinity Community Council are fully supportive of this application.
In recent years and in particular this last year since the onset of Covid-19 many areas of Strathspey including Nethy Bridge have seen a huge increase in the number of motorhomes making the most of our environment. There has been however a huge shortage of suitable overnight stances for these vehicles with many being parked in inappropriate sites and also disposing of their effluent in a very inconsiderate manner. It will be much easier to ask owners to move from inappropriate locations if there are proper facilities available.
The National Park Authority have themselves been trying the alleviate this growing problem which everybody thinks could be exacerbated this coming season.
This application will help to alleviate this problem as we believe many motorhome owners will go to a site such as this with proper waste disposal if it is available. It will also bring some additional business to the local community.
We have had two comments, one being concerned with future extension and a second asking that the facility is signposted thus avoiding vehicles getting lost and driving up wrong roads.
We therefore encourage you to approve this application.
Yours faithfully,
Sandy McCook, Chairman
Nethy Bridge and Vicinity Community Council

Dear Sirs,
Application Number: Development Proposed: Location:
2021/0090/DET Formation of campervan site Land 315M SW Of The Half House, Nethy Bridge,
Thank you for the new consultation.
We would like to reaffirm our full support for this application as we feel it will provide a much needed service in the local community by removing many of the inappropriately parked camper vans which have in recent years become all too common around the area.
We would ask that this is dealt with as quickly as possible so that the development can be up and running in time for next years tourist season.
Yours faithfully,
Sandy McCook, Chairman
