Performance Paper 1 - C2030 Q1-2026

This document contains an update on the Cairngorms 2030 programme for the first quarter of 2026, covering January to March. This programme, which is supported by £12.5 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, aims to inspire people and communities in the Cairngorms National Park to tackle nature and climate crises, striving to become the UK's first net zero national park. Overall, the programme is strategically on track with strong delivery across most areas, including landscape restoration, community empowerment, health and wellbeing, volunteering, and communications, and its risk level remains green. However, the Transforming Transport theme is facing challenges, with its risk level increasing to amber due to uncertainties in funding from Transport Scotland, delivery timelines, and project sequencing. The Park Authority is actively managing these issues through strategic reprioritisation and re-evaluating delivery, with a key focus in the next quarter on confirming future transport funding and advancing major projects.
