Performance Paper 2 Annex 2 - C2030 Programme Q4 2025 Transport theme update

This document contains an update on the Cairngorms 2030 programme's transport projects, outlining how they're being refined to support sustainable and accessible travel across the Cairngorms National Park. For Aviemore, plans are now focusing on improving areas for walking, using wheelchairs, and public spaces, as a proposed separate cycle path wasn't practical or supported by the community. Instead, cycling will be enhanced through alternative routes and a new e-bike share scheme called HiBikes, developed with a regional transport partnership. To make sure these projects deliver the most benefit, funds are being moved from other transport initiatives to strengthen the Cycle Friendly Cairngorms project and encourage more active travel choices. These adjustments ensure the programme remains on track, uses its funding effectively, and works with partners to achieve its goals for the community and environment.
