Performance Paper 2 - Cairngorms 2030 Delivery Update

This document contains an update on the Cairngorms 2030 programme and how risks are being managed for October to December 2025. The programme, which helps the Cairngorms National Park tackle climate and nature challenges, is largely on track with an overall 'Green' risk status. A key project, 'Active Communities', remains at an 'Amber' risk level because of ongoing budget and timing challenges, leading to changes in plans for cycle paths in Aviemore to focus more on walking and public spaces. Good progress has been made in areas like woodland expansion, peatland restoration, and engaging with communities, with some projects even exceeding targets. However, the woodland expansion project came in significantly under budget, which, while efficient, has created a shortfall in match funding that the Park Authority plans to address by using other Scottish Forestry funded schemes, pending approval from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
